Credit By Examination You can earn credit by examination for courses identified in the College catalog with "(CE)" after the course title. For example, the designation of CE-TP following a course title indicates that the course is available for credit by examination at the Takoma Park Campus. Contact the department chairperson on the campus where the credit by examination option is available. Montgomery College faculty prepare and evaluate such examinations or designate College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests to be used in place of internally prepared examinations. The fee for credit by examination is 40 percent of in-county tuition and is payable before the examination is taken. See Collegewide Computer Applications (CA) for information on testing out of CA course prerequisites or getting credit for prior learning. See the Rockville Math Department for information on credit by examination in mathematics courses. To obtain more information on credit by examination, speak with a Montgomery College counselor. Visit Collegeboard.com for more information about the CLEP testing program, or call the Continuing Education Extended Learning Services at (240)567-7870 or Educational Testing Service at (609)771-7865. |
