Determine
which assessment test is best for your situation or if you are
exempt from testing.
- New
students who learned American English as their first language
or attended at least 10 years of school (elementary, middle,
high school) in the United States take the Accuplacer
test to determine English, reading and mathematics
skills. You may take the English and reading sections of the
Accuplacer separately from the mathematics section.
- New
students who did not learn American English as their first
language or who did not attend at least 10 years of school
(elementary, middle, high school) in the United States --
U.S. citizens and residents as well as international students
-- must take the Academic American
English (LOEP) placement test to determine English
and reading skills.
