Mission and Organization
The Procurement Office supports Montgomery
College students' successful achievement of their educational goals by
acquiring goods and services through a centralized purchasing, materials
handling, and materials management systems. The Office of Procurement is
responsible for acquiring quality goods and services at the right price,
at the right time, from the right source while reflecting the diverse
business community of Montgomery County, and consistent with laws,
regulations and College policy.
Function
The functions of the Procurement Office include purchasing and
receiving operations, which perform the following duties:
Purchasing
- Coordinates purchases of all goods and
services for College activities
- Maintains vendor records and
relationships
- Arranges for product demonstrations
- Provides assistance and recommendations to
internal users
- Monitors procurement procedures
- Provides training
- Evaluates bids and proposals
- Opens all bids
- Participates in community outreach
activities
Receiving
- Receives all goods and equipment at a
central location
- Delivers all goods, equipment, and mail to
the three campuses and satellite offices
- Arranges for shipment returns
- Coordinates receipt of goods with internal
customers
