Each semester more than 15,000 students from over 170 countries attend credit courses on our campus. The Rockville campus, with its central location in the City of Rockville, is the largest of the three campuses. It offers a wide variety of degrees and certificates that fulfill the needs of students who plan to transfer and pursue a baccalaureate degree as well as those who wish to prepare to enter or advance in the workforce. The campus offerings include exceptional programs in the sciences and in engineering, first class programs in the arts, extensive general education offerings, quality programs in technical education through the Gudelsky Institute of Technical Education, and a comprehensive honors program. There is an extensive array of noncredit courses offered on the campus and the campus contributes to the intellectual life of the community as well as providing cultural and recreation offerings. One of the exciting campus initiatives currently underway is planning for the new state-of-the-art Science Center. We are anticipating breaking ground during the fall 2008 semester. This large, four-story, long awaited building will house biology, chemistry, physics, physical sciences, and engineering and will eventually connect to Science East so that students, faculty and staff can easily move between the science buildings. The diversity of our campus community is one of the hallmarks of Montgomery College. We are an open door institution that provides access to higher education to students from many different backgrounds. The former chancellor of the City University of New York, Robert Kibbee, once said, “The quality of a university is measured more by the kind of student it turns out than the kind it takes in.” Our job is to work with students to help them reach their educational goals. Please take the time to visit our campus and learn more about us and our programs. |
