Frequently Asked Questions:  

1. Do I have to be MC student to use the Writing Center?

    You must be currently enrolled at MC, have your own current valid ID, and be working on  

    assignments for this college to use a computer. 

 


2. What Services does the Writing Center offer?

 

  • English computer programs.

  • Foreign Language computer/cassettes programs.

  • Face to face tutoring.


3. What is the charge for the Writing Center services?

    All our services are available to Montgomery College students at no cost.


 

4. Do I need to make an appointment for seeing a tutor?

    Both appointments and walk-in visits are welcome. However, we encourage you to

    schedule an appointment in advance to avoid a potential wait.   

 


5. How can I make an appointment?

    You can sign-up a day in advance for tutoring session by walk-in to schedule an

    appointment.

 


6. Can I have more than one appointment a day?

    You can only sign-up for one session on the same day. However, you may get extra help if

    there are un-reserved sessions.

 


7. How long can I spend working with a tutor on my paper?

   
Each tutoring session is scheduled for 20 minutes.


8. Can I make an appointment by phone?

    No, you must walk-in to schedule an appointment.


9. A: Can I do my lab hours here if I take classes on different campus? 

    You should first check to make sure your instructor will accept a lab report from this lab.

    Then you need to provide proof of registration, which includes course information,

    instructor's name, and section number of the most current semester.

    B: How can my professor receive my lab report?

    You are responsible for delivering your printout to the instructor.
