Named for founder Pavlo Virsky, the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company is famous for its bright colors, unity of content and form, and the vibrant embodiment of its stage concept. This brilliant artistic group has embraced the beauty of its native Ukraine and the wisdom of its people, as well as the folk tradition of humor and optimism. Their diverse concert programs present an exquisite charm of Ukrainian folk dancing and the wealth of its traditions, which has been warmly received by audiences all over the world. Each performance is a romantic, elevated, passionate, and exciting show.
Under Virsky’s guidance, the company has matured into a highly professional dance company whose art has won the hearts of countless reviewers and the general public around the world. Since 1980, Virsky’s disciple and current artistic director Myroslav Vantukh has continued the careful preservation and development of folk choreographic art.
