Official Transcripts from Colleges & Universities in the U.S. Official transcripts generally can be ordered via the web, by phone, or mail, from your college or university.  Please have the college or university mail the official transcript in a sealed envelope directly to TechLEAP, Attention Raymond J. Kimball Project Manager, at the mailing address below.

Evaluation of Transcripts/Degrees from Colleges or Universities Outside the United States.  Students must provide transcript evaluations from colleges or universities outside the United States.  This is college policy.  There are a number of official evaluation agencies such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, AACRAO, World Education Services, WES, International Education Research Foundation IERF.  See the College's official policy on foreign transcripts, and the listing of the services at http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/admissions/I20/TransferCredit.htm.  Students also can get more information on these agencies at www.naces.org.

Aptitude Test. TechLEAP/WebLEAP students also must take an aptitude test. The test covers verbal and math skills, mechanical reasoning, spacial concepts, speed and accuracy, and other subjects related to careers in the computer sciences. The test is administered by TechLEAP at the Gaithersburg Business Training Center on specified dates. See the Significant Dates page. Students must register for this test in advance by filling out the registration form and paying a $25.00 fee.

Studying for the Aptitude Test. We recommend you refresh your skills and knowledge of Algebra/Intermediate Algebra prior to taking the aptitude test.  Algebra review books are widely available at local bookstores and at some Montgomery County libraries.   We recommend you find a text you understand with practice questions, and answers in the back.

Practice Aptitude Test.  The Practice Aptitude Test is recommended but not required.  The Practice Test gives you questions in each of the seven subject areas, so you know the format and structure.  Taking the Practice Test helps reduce surprise and may suggest areas for additional study and preparation.

Aptitude Test Registration. Register by using the TechLEAP Test Registration Form, and pay the test fees, at the Student Services/Cashier's office at Montgomery College's Gaithersburg Business Training Center (GBTC), 12 South Summit Ave., 4th Floor, Gaithersburg, Maryland, 20877. Free parking is available in the Gaithersburg city parking garage behind the building. See our Directions page for details.
