Honors Students from 17 Community Colleges to Present Original Research at Montgomery College
WHO: Honors students from 17 community colleges across the nation, including 25 students from Montgomery College’s three campuses.
WHAT: The Beacon Conference is for student scholars at two-year colleges. The students will present their research in 15 academic areas including, history, science, literature, gender studies and international studies. Students work with mentors from their colleges to prepare and submit papers that demonstrate outstanding scholarship and originality. The top three papers from each academic area were selected for presentation. Presentations at the conference are judged on originality and quality of research, written work, and the oral presentation. The outstanding presenter for each academic area and each student’s mentor are recognized at the closing session of the conference with a cash prize.

PARKING/DIRECTIONS: Take I-495 East or West to Exit 31B, Georgia Avenue South. Continue south on Georgia Avenue following the signs to Montgomery College. Turn left on Sligo Avenue and turn right on Fenton Street. The campus parking garage is on your right, and the Nunley Student Services Center is at New York Avenue and Fenton Street.
