The CDL program office at Rockville Campus Center has moved to Montgomery College's Gaithersburg Business Training Center (GBTC)..

Beginning May 3rd, interested students should contact the Transportation Safety Institute office directly at Gaithersburg Business Training Center.  Please make an appointment to discuss CDL training options by calling 240-567-7744, sending an e-mail to shannye.carroll@montgomerycollege.edu or by completing a CDL inquiry form at any customer service office.   

New Class: Road Athlete System™ Integrating Health and Safety. This is a 12 month independent, health and safety system designed for new and experienced trucking professionals to make and sustain changes in their personal health and safety. See Schedule.

Industry Outlook
CDL-Class A (tractor-trailer) graduates go on to drive tractor-trailers for both short-haul and long-haul deliveries and can earn up to $20 per hour with experience.
CDL-Class B (straight truck / bus) graduates go on to drive straight trucks, dump trucks, motor coaches, limousines, school buses, truck buses, mini coaches, and can earn up to $16 per hour with experience.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Educational Outlook Handbook, the demand for professional truck drivers is growing. See our Career Information page for information on a career as a professional truck driver. There is a shortage of approximately 20,000 drivers in the U.S. annually.
