Spanish Textbook FAQs

Q:  Why are there two different titles listed for Spanish courses I - IV?  Will I have to buy a new book next semester?

• If you begin the spring 2010 semester in Spanish I part 1 or Spanish I part 2, you will use Nexos for up to four years of study.
  
  
• If you begin the spring 2010 semester in Spanish II parts 1 or 2, you will use Spanish Now and will continue to use it until Spanish III.
  
  
• If you begin the spring 2010 semester in Spanish III part 1 or 2, you will use Nexos through Spanish IV. 

Important information about Nexos
In order to resolve a longstanding complaint about the poor quality (including errors) of the book we had been using, we have adopted Nexos with Student Activities Manual, 2nd edition.

Noting that all quality textbooks are expensive, in order to comply with Montgomery College’s Textbook Affordability Policy, we are pleased that this textbook is available in several formats:

• At the Montgomery College bookstore, purchase Nexos — text + activities manual + CD + access to the Premium website. The website contains grammar tutorials, flash cards, audio and video programs, which can be used on your computer or downloaded into MP3 or a CD. Ask for ISBN #142825000X.

On this site you may:  1) purchase a traditional text, 2) rent the traditional text,  3) buy an eBook- for 50% less,  4) purchase individual chapters, or 5) purchase the Premium website to accompany the traditional textbook.***

Textbook rental is for 1, 2 or 3 semesters with the option to purchase or extend the rental period. When you rent a book you automatically receive the first chapter as a free download, while waiting for your text to arrive in the mail, which should take 2-3 days. You will be able to write and highlight in the text. If you drop the class in the first 30 days you can return the book for a full refund.
